(a) The linear tetron, a minimal device for performing fusion. The two outer regions must be tuned into the topological phase via the TGP, while the middle section must be in the trivial phase. This results in a device with four MZMs. (b) Two two-sided tetrons, with which measurement-based braiding can be performed. There are 5 topological sections.
