Hexbyte – Science and Tech

Bungie has revealed Season of the Drifter, season 6 of Destiny 2.

In its latest ViDoc, Bungie showed off two new modes coming to Destiny 2 in Season of the Drifter, which begins March 5. Players with the game’s Annual Pass will be able to experience Gambit Prime, a new class-based version of Gambit with unique rewards. Another addition, The Reckoning, is a matchmade activity that pits players against enemies inside The Plains of the Nine.

Guardians will pick up class-based items through Gambit Prime and bounties from the Drifter. They’ll take these items into The Reckoning, a matchmade event space similar to Court of Oryx or Blind Well; the items grant buffs for that particular run.

If their team is able to complete The Reckoning, they’ll earn some new armor pieces based on the buff they have active. Those new armor pieces will go back to Gambit Prime and offer bonuses for a specific play style, helping create a loop that rotates players through the new content.

These loot pieces will create a more complicated Gambit experience, according to Bungie. Players will choose armor sets of four different Gambit roles: Sentry, Collector, Invader, and Reaper. These different sets will have special Gambit Prime bonuses. They’ll help players compete in Prime and can be upgraded over time through different tiers of The Reckoning.

Gambit Prime itself looks to be a familiar experience for Gambit players, with a few key twists added. Instead of three rounds and a best-of-three system, Gambit Prime lasts for only one round. Players will be able to drain motes from the opposing team, creating a back-and-forth battle. The Primeval bosses are also more complicated, and have group mechanics similar to those in a raid or strike.

Players who are still a bit behind will be able to pick up bounties when the Season of the Drifter goes live, bounties that help power them up to 640. These bounties reward blue armor, so players will be able to infuse them into their favorite pieces of gear to catch up with their friends.

Gambit is also getting two new maps in Season of the Drifter: New Arcadia on Mars and Deep Six on Titan. They’ll be released over the course of the new season. Guardians will also be able to earn the returning exotic hand cannon Thorn in the second week of Season of the Drifter.

More Destiny content awaits players in a new seasonal event called The Revelry. The next season — Season of Opulence — will go live in June. Gambit Prime and The Reckoning Tier 1 challenges will become available for Destiny 2: Annual Pass holders on March 5, with more content being released through early May.

‘Little Friends: Dogs & Cats’ could provide some much-needed pet therapy.

Imagineer/Sold Out

If you’re still suffering from Nintendogs withdrawal several years later, you might have an unofficial fix. Imagineer and Sold Out are releasing an international version of Little Friends: Dogs & Cats, a previously Japan-only pet sim that embodies the spirit of the Nintendo game with a few twists. You can care for and play with six breeds of puppy and three breeds of kitten, including three pets at the same time if you’re up for a bit of chaos. You can also dress up your pets if playing fetch isn’t cutting it.

The title reaches Europe and North America sometime this spring. It’ll only do so much if you wore yourself out on pet sims, but it might be helpful if you’re looking for some therapeutic moments with virtual companions. And consider this: unlike Nintendogs, you can play this on a big screen when you’d prefer to lounge on the couch.

It’s time to meet your new best friend! 🐶🐱

We’re excited to announce that Little Friends: Dogs & Cats is coming soon to North America & Europe, exclusively on Nintendo Switch. pic.twitter.com/3c4V7gPgut
